About George Walker

Creating. It has always been a part of my life, but I hope to make it the focus of my career. I have spent all of my energies thus far in the development of my artistic, writing, design, communication, and problem-solving skills. If I were to describe myself in a sentence, I would say that I create experiences that entertain, amuse, and amaze my audiences.

I am eager to have the opportunity to contribute to a prominent theme design company. I offer a unique combination of qualities that I feel would make me a valuable asset. I have spent my life dedicated to creative output, enhanced by my training at the University of Southern California School of Cinema/Television. There, I learned that the greatest success is achieved when art and industry are combined. The instruction could best be described as a business approach to creative, audio-visual storytelling. Most significantly, in the years since graduation, I have learned to blend both creative talents and business-oriented organizational skills and experiences, affording me the ability to understand the artistic needs of a project while simultaneously balancing the needs of the business. This helps me grasp the greater scope of a project and the importance of the many, unique contributing roles involved. In this way I am the ideal team player for a professional creative environment.

I am known for both my artistic ability with cement sculpture and foam work which, earlier this year, was featured by HGTV in two segments focused on my projects on the program “Look What I Did,” while at the same time being recognized and repeatedly promoted in my current position because of my organizational talents and management skills. In my creative endeavors, I have become quite prolific with the unique art of working with concrete as an artistic medium, as well as with foam, concept art, basic drafting, and even wood frame carpentry, as you will see from the materials I have enclosed. I approach everything I build as if it were a set on a stage designed to evoke mood, create atmosphere, and tell a story that “unfolds” around you. In the business world I have been successful in applying my creativity to the challenges of a business.

My mission is to find an outlet for the irrepressible drive within me to be part of an engrossing and creative work environment and career. Creation alone is not quite enough to make the mixture complete because I do not create for myself. I am eager to create with others, for others. I am not exaggerating when I say that I can think of no other career opportunity which would be more rewarding.
